Bubba Watson “Sit in a corner? Just call me”

The American Professional Golf (PGA) Tour and LIV golf groups are already fighting a war of nerves ahead of the Masters, a major tournament to be held in April. At a press conference ahead of the Asian Professional Golf Tour Saudi International held in Saudi Arabia on the 1st (Korean time), Watson said, “I will sit anywhere as long as Schaeffler invites me to the Champions Dinner ahead of the Masters.” Watson responded with a laugh at the bone-chilling joke of ‘PGA Tour Remnant’ Scheffler, who disapproved of LIV golfers’ participation in the Masters.
The dispute between the two dates back to the end of last year. Schaeffler and Watson met by chance in Hawaii and talked about the Masters and LIV golf. As last year’s Masters champion, Schaeffler will host the ‘Champions Dinner’ this year. He reportedly told Watson, “I’ll have a seat set aside in the corner at the Champions Dinner.” Watson joined LIV Golf last year as a Masters winner in 2012 and 2014. This story was known to the world after Schaeffler mentioned it at a press conference for his first tournament of the year, the Sentry Tournament of Champions.
This time, Watson responded. When asked about this happening, he responded lightly, saying, “It’s okay to sit anywhere. I’m satisfied just being there.”
LIV Golf, operated with capital from Saudi Arabia, was launched in June of last year. Players who moved to LIV Golf are unable to compete in PGA Tour events. However, the Masters tournament hosted by Augusta National GC decided to open the door to LIV golf players as well. Following last year’s US Open, the second PGA tour group and LIV golf group will face off with pride. In addition to Watson, Masters champions such as Phil Mickelson (53, USA), Dustin Johnson (39, USA), and Sergio Garcia (43, Spain) are active in LIV Golf.
