Gwangju-born Choi Ji-hoon encourages students from his alma mater Suchangcho to visit the Champions League…”Be a great player”
SSG Landers’ Choi Ji-hoon spent a meaningful time with his alma mater’s juniors.
Choi met with students from his alma mater, Suchangcho, before the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League game against the KIA Tigers at Kia Champions Field in Gwangju on 8 August. 29 students from Suchangcho’s baseball team came to watch the game as a group, and the meeting was organised by Choi’s mentor, coach Ryu Chang-hee. Ryu was Choi’s coach when he was in school.먹튀검증
After meeting the juniors, Choi signed an impromptu autograph session and took a photo with them. The juniors had a great time with him, including a Q&A session. Choi also gave the young baseball players words of encouragement and provided them with a small amount of money for snacks during training.
After meeting the youngsters from his hometown, Choi said, “It was nice to say hello to the youngsters from my alma mater. It’s not a lot of money, but I hope it helps them a little bit. I’ve always been supported by my seniors, so I’m happy to give back through this opportunity. They are still young, so I hope they eat a lot of good food and become great players. I hope we can be together on the baseball field.”
“I’m proud that Ji Hoon, who I met as a child, has become a great player and is helping the juniors. Even when he was younger, he always played the same combative baseball as he does now, and he is a good example for our players. I hope he can play for a long time without any injuries.” He left a message of support for Choi Ji-hoon.
Suchangcho captain Shim Hyung-jin said, “I’m happy to see Ji-hoon Choi from our school. I want to become a player who can hit accurately and send balls far like you,” he said, adding his ambition to become a professional player like Choi Ji-hoon.
