Park Joo-ho’s wife Anna gives emotional tribute to Ulsan fans at husband’s retirement ceremony

A photo of footballer Park Joo-ho’s wife, Anna, taking a big bow to fans at his retirement ceremony has been released, deeply touching fans.

The retirement ceremony was held after the match between Suwon FC and Ulsan at Suwon Sports Complex on the 6th.

After playing overseas in Japan and Europe, Park joined Ulsan in 2018 and made his first professional appearance in Korea.

He helped Ulsan win the 2020 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Champions League (ACL) before moving to Suwon FC in 2021, where he played for more than two years before hanging up his boots.

Both Suwon FC and Ulsan fans applauded Park for his role as a “big brother” to the players in both teams.

Park was a member of Suwon FC, but in the middle of the retirement ceremony, he went to the Ulsan supporters’ section to thank them with tears in his eyes.스포츠토토

But it wasn’t Park Joo-ho who made the Ulsan fans cry.

According to the Ulsan club, Park turned around to continue the retirement ceremony, but Anna, who was with him, remained in the Ulsan supporters’ section.

He then slowly bowed to the Ulsan fans.

The Ulsan supporters’ section went silent for a moment. There were sobs here and there.

A club official said, “It wasn’t a flimsy bow. It was the kind of bow where you could see the sincerity in every single movement.”

The scene was captured on camera by Ulsan fan Kim Ki-jin.

“I cried while taking the picture,” Kim said. I’m happy that I was able to capture something that touched my heart.”

The match was attended by 8,733 spectators at the Suwon Sports Complex, nearly one-third of whom were Ulsan’s travelling fans.

Anna, who is Swiss, met and married Park as an interpreter when he was playing for Basel in Switzerland.

She has two sons and a daughter with Park Joo-ho and has a small following in Korea through her appearances on TV entertainment programmes.

Last year, he revealed that he was battling cancer on social media, and his condition is now reportedly much improved.
