Ronaldo is ‘one game’ away from 200 A-match appearances

Cristiano Ronaldo (38, Alnasr) is just one game away from reaching the milestone of 200 appearances in A-matches.

Ronaldo started and played the entirety of Portugal’s UEFA Euro 2024 qualifying Group J home match against Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, Portugal, on Aug. 18 (ET), helping Portugal to a 3-0 victory.

The win extended Ronaldo’s all-time record for most appearances in an A-match to 199. He needs just one more match to reach the 200-cap milestone.먹튀검증

Ronaldo rattled the Bosnian net in the 23rd minute with a header from Joao Cancelo’s cross from the right, but the goal was ruled out for offside, preventing him from breaking his all-time A-Match record of 122 goals.

Ronaldo will attempt to reach 200 caps and break the record for most goals in an A-match when Portugal hosts Iceland in their fourth group game on June 21.

Portugal remained unbeaten in three group games, led by Bruno Fernandes’ two goals and one assist. After setting up Bernardo Silva’s opening goal in the 44th minute, Fernandes scored back-to-back goals in the 32nd minute and just before halftime to seal the win for Portugal.

Portugal retained sole possession of first place in Group J (9 points), with Slovakia, who beat Iceland 2-1 earlier in the day, in second place (7-2-1-1). In Euro qualifying, five or six countries are grouped together, with only the first and second-place teams in each group advancing to the knockout rounds.
